Registrar Training at Coastal Family Health

Coastal Family Health has been a long-standing registrar training practice with a strong reputation for developing the next generation of General Practitioners. We are fully accredited with the RACGP for registrar teaching, setting us apart from many other practices in the region.

Our team includes four dedicated registrar supervisors, both male and female, who bring a wealth of experience and diverse teaching styles. Together, they provide structured supervision, exam preparation guidance, and tailored feedback to help registrars succeed through every stage from GPT1 to fellowship.

As a registrar at Coastal, you benefit from an open-door policy and a large team of diversely specialised doctors who are always willing to share knowledge. From skin cancer medicine and women’s health to chronic disease management and procedural skills, registrars are exposed to a broad spectrum of general practice in a supportive environment. This team-based approach creates ongoing opportunities to learn in real time from experienced colleagues.

We run a well-planned registrar training program that goes beyond day-to-day clinical practice. Every quarter, registrars take part in hands-on teaching nights covering practical skills such as Mirena insertion, skin procedures, fracture casting, and Medicare compliance. These sessions are designed to give registrars confidence and competence in essential areas of general practice.

Coastal Family Health also prides itself on a welcoming, family-practice culture. Many of our doctors, nurses, and administrative staff have worked together for years, creating a collegial and stable environment. Registrars quickly become part of the team, developing long-term patient relationships while feeling supported both professionally and personally.

We understand that registrars come from different backgrounds and at varying stages of life, so we offer flexible working conditions. Whether you are seeking part-time or full-time work, structured days or adaptable hours, we can tailor your placement to fit your needs while maintaining high-quality patient care.

At Coastal Family Health, we believe in creating an environment that supports professional growth, career longevity, and upskilling within a private billing setting. Many of our registrars choose to stay with us post-fellowship, recognising the supportive culture, quality education, and career opportunities we provide.
